I was able to get it to suction better by placing a gel mat down. In the end I ended up finally buying a vice that clamp. But its still something I use from time to time.

Cool little vice great for jewelry

Really not worth much more than a paperweight.
I had one replaced due to the bottom of the base breaking and neither one of them stuck to any polished flat surface for more than 3 to 5 minutes at a time. The vice itself works great and I have had no issues with it holding onto work. The suction base pretty much ruins the entire concept though. I wouldn't recommend this particular product.

Cute little vise for small work
I got this little vise and it works well for holding small items when I solder in electronics. I use it to hold items when I solder. It's suction base sticks well plastic and metal surfaces so I really love it. Price is great too. I'll order more shortly.
