a) "The first printing stage" : The "Yellow print" with only one color.

b) "The second printing stage" : A second red printing is added to the first stage, generating all the orange nuances between yellow and red.

c) "The third printing stage" : called the "Black stage" where the original black drawings of Hergé are superposed upon the second color stage + addition of black frames and texts (French first edition of 1954).

d) "The fourth printing stage" : At the precedent stage, the blue color is added, generating all the nuances of the three color mix and creating the final print of the plate, such as the original version first published in 1954.
