Continued) If you
haven't started side matches at your annual or monthly match,
you might want to think about what you can add to your event to
make it even better than it is.
If you already have side matches, you might want to get
some input from your club members on how you can recruit more
participants to join in the games.
I have
been to many annual events that have both mounted and ground
main matches. I
have observed over the last few years that rarely are there
competitors in both during a specific event and, more
importantly, the social aspect of the two seem to be separated.
Why this is, I am not exactly sure, but we should be open
to any suggestions anyone has on making the participants of both
events more cohesive. Is
there some way that both groups can participate more with one
another both on the shooting range and after the range has been
closed? It seems to
me that both go their separate ways to a large extent.
Is it possible to have a side-match event that combines
mounted shooting with ground shooting, possibly on a team basis?
One thing I have noticed is that mounted shooting draws a
lot more nonparticipating spectators.
Is there a way to draw more spectators over to see the
ground shooting as well?
I believe that we
should all try our best to make the sport more interesting to
both participates and spectators, while at the same time
creating an environment in which people of all ages and
interests can come out and join in the fun.
Keep
on shooting,
Chucky
